Influential

The end is right there. The sprint up the stairs is over, and now, its all downhill from here. The building's end is in sight, through the curtain of rain. The pattering is drowned out, silent, for the beating of her heart thrumming in her ears. No, their shoes. Their fancy, dapper, expensive shoes.

Sneaking around them, she saw those shoes enough. Would her last memory be of those shoes..? Of this building? She didn't know anything about this building, it seemed nice. She wanted to explore this building.

But she was going to die.

The end was right there, a few feet away. Rain had been pattering her face, cooling the sweat that it joined, but leaving her moist. Tshirt, clinging, great. The edge is now under her feet, and she turns in her stride to look back at her foes. Was she planning to jump back towards them and rush the line!? What the-. No.

Five have left the door and are standing on the roof, several of them holding weapons towards her. Flashes. Shooting. Will those hit? On no. Think.

"STOP!" The commanding voice. And just like that, the pattering white noise returned to her. Her arm stings, was she shot? No, that would be a lot more painful. Catching her breath, the girl thought on it.

Pebbles from the stone. Close... stand slowly. She does so. Her head bowed forward, she was viewing the group through long, dark hair. The rain following the path of strands down, leaving her eyes clear even as she looks solemn. Defeated. Yes.

“That’s game ova’, lass.” Came that strong accent.

“Liam.” She responded, forcing her lips to curl at their edges. “Come give me a hug, for old times sake?”

“The view is amazin’, but can’t say I’m feeling the intimacy of the settin’.” He said while several of Liam’s goons were shaking water from their faces, or blinking it away. One even wipes. Liam himself is putting on a face, and this rain is doing wonders for his eyelashes. Heck, why is he prettier than usual tonight? “Tell ya what; For old time’s sake, and with the convenience of the precarious situation ya put yaself into, you gets a choice. Ya let gravity take ya to the great beyond that way, or my crew will graciously offer tha lethal injection.” The sneer on his face was really sexy right now, but that just made her want to punch him even more.

A brief moment was spent in thought, and with a soft sight, she smiled. “Thank you, Liam. For the rest of my life, I will remember your generosity.” Her voice came smooth, clean, and confident as she parted her arms, leaned and... let herself go. Cast off the edge of the building, and towards the ring of clouds below, and the welcoming streets far beyond that.
